Mildred Florine Oakes was born on May 8, 1914 in St. Louis, MO. She was the daughter of Henry & Mary (nee Rauch) Link. She died on January 11, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hopsice Home in Winston-Salem, NC at the age of 104. She is survived by her 2 sons, Jerry Oakes of Birmingham, AL; and David Oaks of College Station, TX; grandchildren, Kathleen, Matthew, Peter, Paula and Benjamin. Mildred was a great-grandmother and great-great grandmother also. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin Oakes; and a brother, Oliver Link.
