William Thomas “Tom” Stafford, Sr. was born in Hendrickson,  on August 8, 1931 a son to Frank Stafford and Lavada (nee Crowell) Stafford Gragg. He died August 25, 2012 at the de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County at the age of 81.  He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Lucas) Stafford of De Soto who he married in St. Louis on September 10, 1966; three children: Tom Stafford, Jr. Festus, Stacey Stafford, De Soto, and Lavada Stafford, St. Louis; two grandchildren: Alyssa Stafford and Austin Stafford; a very special brother-in-law Butch and his wife Becky  Manning; and his pet and constant companion Oreo the dog.  He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, worked as an automobile carrier truck driver, member of the Teamsters, and VFW Post 1831.
