Wallace E. Irwin was born in De Soto on June 21, 1933 a son to Charles and Maggie “Margaret” (nee Lewis) Irwin. He died on September 13, 2013 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife: Marilyn (nee Wantland) Irwin, Victoria; three children: Monte Irwin, Victoria; Elizabeth (Stephen Deaton) Irwin, Charlotte, NC, and Monica Irwin, Basehor, KS; four grandchildren: Alex (Amber) Wallace Irwin, Knoxville, TN, Katherine Irwin, Charlotte, NC, and Lucas and Alexis Yockel and their father Keven Yockel, Basehor, KS. Wallace married his wife Marilyn on April 29, 1953 in De Soto and went to serve in the United States Army shortly thereafter. Upon returning home he owned and operated Irwin Garage Door Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Victoria United Methodist Church and Carpenter’s Local #73. Nancy Hollingsworth, Pastor of Victoria United Methodist Church, will officiate the services with a eulogy by Elizabeth Irwin.
