Vurda Cochran was born on July 16, 1933 in St. Louis, MO. She was the daughter of Jewel Sweeney & Eunice (nee White) Sweeney Bailey. She died on March 15, 2016 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus at the age of 82.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy (Thomas, Sr.) Hurt of Festus, MO; Ken (Karen) Cochran of De Soto, MO; and Norman Cochran of De Soto; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Rulo – De Soto, MO; Mary Bacon – Salem, MO; Patricia Evans – Festus, MO; Linda (Alvin) Harmon – Festus, MO; and Lou (Paul) Hanson – Rolla, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy O. Cochran, daughter-in-law, Deborah Cochran; brother, Jewel “Junior” Sweeney; brothers-in-law, Oscar Rulo, Buddy Bacon, and Olin Evans.
