Twylah Lorraine Johansen Roesing Singer was born January 24, 1918 in Greeley County, NE. She was the daughter of J.N.K. “Cy” and Lydia Mary (nee Kruse) Johansen. She died on December 24, 2013 at The Villa’s in De Soto, MO at the age of 95 years 11 months. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Keeli) Singer, Potosi, MO; Sharon (Ron) Harshman, Hagerstown, MD; Alois N. “Skip” (Kay) Singer, Jr., Waynesboro, PA; Steven (Peggy) Singer, De Soto, MO; and Keith (DeLynn) Singer, De Soto, MO; Thirteen Grandchildren; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bernard Matthew Roesing; and second husband, Alois Nicholas Singer, Sr.; and two brothers, Marion Cyril and Leland Kruse Johansen and one sister Lyal Elitta Johansen. She is a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, De Soto, MO and she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle #659, and the Columbia Anns. Twylah attended high school in Scotia, NE and the State Teacher’s College in Kearney, NE. She taught school for 3 years until her marriage to her first husband, Bernard Matthew Roesing on October 28, 1939. They owned and operated a welding company in St. Louis, MO. In August 1970, she married Alois (Al) Singer of De Soto, MO who had 5 children.
