Thedford Daniel “Danny” Rider was born June 14, 1921 in Gumbo, MO. He was the son of John W. and Mattie (nee Jones) Rider. He died on March 29, 2021 at Hillcrest Care Center, De Soto, MO at the age of 99 years. He is survived by his children, Gary Rider, Farmington, MO; Barbara Ann (Gary) Schwenk, Vallejo, CA; Danny (Barbara) Rider, Apache Junction, AZ; William (Carolyn) Rider, De Soto, MO; Allen Rider, San Diego, CA; Phillip Rider, De Soto, MO; one sister, Norma Jean (Ralph) McFarland, Festus, MO; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred J. (nee Baldwin) Rider; one son, Michael Rider; and three brothers, Paul, John and Willard Rider. Thedford was a manager at Kroger grocery store; and he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Thedford served as a Deacon and Treasurer at First Free Will Baptist Church, De Soto; he was also a charter member and belonged to the Master Builders of the Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and travel.
