Ronald Steven Collins was born Sept. 12, 1947 a son to Roy and Mary Courtaway Collins.  He died at his De Soto residence July 11, 2010 at the age of 62.  He is survived by siblings Jeannie (Ron) Keith, Hill City, KS, Paul “Boots” Benton, De Soto, Carol (Denny) Andrasko, Festus, Thomas “Mike” (Annette) Collins, Enid, OK, Charles Collins, Festus, Gerald (Roberta) Collins, Wichita Falls, TX, Debra (Paul) Boren, Sunrise Lake; two sons Ronald Steven Collins, Jr. Albuquerque, NM and Bryan Collins, Las Vegas NV; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr Collins served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired as a transportation director for Federated Department Stores.  He was a member of AmVets Post #48 and a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus St. Francois Council #1088.  Chaplin John Davis will officiate the service with interment with full military honors to follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto, MO.   Memorial donations may be made to Soldiers Angels, 1792 East Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104 (please denote “Hike for Heroes” on check) or the First United Methodist Church-Festus Youth Group.
