May the peace of God soothe the hearts of your family at this time of loss. Jesus, who is our best friend, refered to death as "sleeping". He knew he would wake up those who have gone to rest in death. There's an account in the Bible at John 11:11-44 where you can get a glimpse of how you will feel when Richard is called from his "sleep". Notice the pain at first, even Jesus himself wept (he knows every tear that falls from your eyes), but then notice the reactions of the family when Lazarus' "comes out" at Jesus' invitation. What joy!! That is how it will be for you. Don't let grief engulf you, but instead, look to the time when you, too, will be welcoming Richard. You, too, will hug and laugh and the tears that fall will be tears of rejoicing not grief. While you patiently wait on the Great Time Keeper, Jehovah God, please find hope and comfort in the promise that Jesus said when he called himself "the resurrection and the life"
