Norman L. Sparkman was born October 24, 1932 in Ste. Genevieve County, MO. He was the son of Owen M. and Wilhemina “Minnie” J. (nee Staffen) Sparkman. He died on January 11, 2016 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, MO at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (nee Mayes) Bellah Sparkman, Hillsboro, MO; daughters, Sherry (Michael) Weiderman, Barnhart, MO and Pamela (Keith) Williams, Barnhart, MO; one son, Craig (Margie) Sparkman, Hillsboro, MO; step-children, Pamela Howard, Hillsboro, MO, Sheila (Dennis) Byrd, Hillsboro, MO, and Larry Bellah, Hillsboro, MO;brother, Raymond “Bo” Sparkman, Ste. Genevieve, MO; two brother-in-laws, Clarence Uding, and Malcom “Butch” Scherer; one sister-in-law, Anna Marie Sparkman. several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty S. (nee Rice) Sparkman; three sisters, Nora Lee Roth, Ruby Uding, and Dorothy Scherer; one brother, Floyd “Frog” Sparkman; sister-in-law, Arlene Sparkman; and brother-in-law, Lilburn Roth. Norman was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
