  • Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto, MO

Nedra Delia Scott Courtaway was born in De Soto on April 2, 1930 a daughter to Cleveland Stone and Ethel Mae (nee Denny) Scott.  She died at her De Soto home on February 13, 2021 at the age of 90.  She is survived by her husband of 72 years Marion Joseph “Joe” Courtaway; two daughters:  Carol Jo (David) Shelly, Pevely and Connie D. Leas, De Soto; three grandchildren: David J. (Lisa) Leas, De Soto,  Jacob David (Sarah) Shelly, Haymarket, VA and Nathaniel Thomas Shelly, Hillsboro and six great-grandchildren: Isabella, Christopher, Andrew, Hadleigh, Landon and Colton.  She is preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law David Leas, a granddaughter Christina Mae Leas; six sisters: Virginia Scott, Neoma Wienberry, Gladys Osmundson, Myrtle Calvert, Iva McBroom and Daisy Hobson and one brother Frank “Red” Scott. Nedra had retired as Deputy Jefferson County Clerk and was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in De Soto where she played the piano for many years.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Pony Bird, Inc.
