Myrtle Louis Pettus-Filkins was born January 8, 1930 in De Soto, MO. She was the daughter of Thomas and Martha (nee Iahn) Rawson. She died on January 19, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Filkins, De Soto, MO; four sisters, Mabel Akins, De Soto, Bernice Haverstick, De Soto, MO, Ruby Roberts, Valles Mines, MO, and Elba Head, Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Terry (Beverly) Pettus, II, French Village, MO; and Joe (Shawna) Pettus, Wentzville, MO; great-grandchildren, Terry Pettus, III, Tyler Pettus, Gianna Pettus, Bodhi Pettus, and Asher Pettus. She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Raymond Pettus; son, Terry (Shirley “Mrs. Chuck Lotz”, of Bonne Terre, MO) Pettus, Sr.; and siblings, Norma Knickles, Gladys Mayo, Alice Mayo, Lucille Hogan, Tom Rawson, and Wayne Rawson.
