Lynn E. Gideon was born October 10, 1930 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Henry E. and Nettie Jane (Rowden) Gideon. He died on September 25, 2017 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary C. “Pete” (Bequette) Gideon, De Soto, MO; children, Kevin (Pam Long) Ponzar, Victoria, MO; Lorie (Bruce) Blaylock, Olympian Village, MO; and Karen (Keith) Newbury, Richwoods, MO; grandchildren, John (Julie), Jennifer, Tosca (Jimmy), Brent (Maddy), Kyle (Meagan), Sarah (Adam), Joshua (Bella), and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Isaiah, Savannah, Rory, Alexia, Ruthie, Avery, Cheyenne, Nevaeh, Dominic, Ayden, Elijah, Presley, and Easton. He is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Ruth (John) Oldham, Norma (William) Dover, Lois (Eli) Huskey, Mae (Lester) Williamson, Celeste (Floyd) Farrow, five brothers; Donald Lee Gideon, Ira Ray Gideon, Myron Clare Gideon, Laverne Gideon, and George Gideon; one great grandchild, Aubrey; and a daughter-in-law, Vivian Ponzar. He owned and operated Gideon Excavating.
