Leo Nathan “Nate” Dennis was born on June 17, 1937 in De Soto a son to Leo Wilford and Lena Edna (nee Gowan) Dennis. He died on June 10, 2014 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age 76.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Linda (nee Templeton) Dennis; two children: Cary Dennis of De Soto, MO and Kathy (Don) Richey of Fairhope, Alabama; one sister: Maude Johnson; four grandchildren: Callie Dennis, Mary Kate Dennis, Jacob Richey, & Carson Richey; and two sisters-in-law: Donna Dennis of De Soto and Sue Templeton of St. Louis.
Nate was a 1957 graduate of De Soto High School where he was a three sport letterman establishing many records in basketball and was a State Champion in the high jump in track and field. On February 3, 1995 he was inducted into the De Soto High School Hall of Fame. His memberships included: BPOE #689; Amvets Post #48; and the IAMAW Aerospace District #837. Nate served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas as an Expeditor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Clara De Clue, Mary Sue Johnson, Helen Kelso, Ernest Dennis, and Leonard Dennis.
