John Henry “Jake” Taylor was born in De Soto on May 19, 1943 a son to Marvin E. and Antoinette “Tony” (nee Christ) Taylor. He died on March 25, 2020 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Patricia “Pat” (nee Lane) Taylor, Hillsboro; his son Jacob (Phoenix Lee) Taylor, Hillsboro; two brothers: Don (Kathy) Taylor, De Soto and Ken (Sheryl) Taylor, New Bloomfield; a sister-in-law Cathy Riggs, Cuba, MO; a brother-in-law Alan (Christina) Lane, Houston, MO and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jake spent much of his youth with is aunt Clara and uncle Byron “Barney” Schubel who also precede him in death. Jake had served in the Missouri National Guard and was working as a Specialty Products Manager for the Marcus-James Company.
