James Allen Murphy was born June 22, 1926 in Herculaneum, MO. He was the son of George Sr. and Wilhemina “Minnie” (nee Bruedigam) Murphy. He died on August 30, 2015 at Barnes Hospital in St. Peter’s, MO at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Murphy, St. Charles, MO; two sisters, Helen Axley, Henderson, KY; and Ann Corcoran, Festus, MO; nieces and nephews, Pam Murphy, David Murphy, Lynn Axley McFarland, Lisa M. Axley, and Stan Axley; friends, Karen & Rob Haverstick, Sarah (Jason) Levall and their son, Jake; Rob (Cori) Haverstick, Jr. and their family, Jace, Nathan, and Brianna; and his dog, Susie-Q. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn Marie (nee Hoffman) Murphy; one son, Allen James “Doc” Murphy, two brothers, George Murphy, Jr. and Daniel Murphy. James was a glassworker at Pittsburg Plate Glass; he was also a veteran in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
