James “Jay” Thomas Clayton was born on March 31, 1944 in Benton, Arkansas. He was the son of Lester Carnette & Alta (Nee Thomas) Clayton. He died on November 3, 2019 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at the age of 75.
He is survived by his sister, Anne Horton of Little Rock, Arkansas and sister-in-law, Beverly Clayton of Dexter, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lester Conway Clayton.
Jay was a retired art teacher from Hillsboro High School.
