George Henry Harris, 77, of De Soto, MO, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO.

George was born on February 2, 1945 in Paris, IL to the late Raymond Carl Harris and Emogene (nee McIntyre) Harris.  George was employed as a cement driver at Ready Mix for 30 years until his retirement in 2012.

George liked to work in his garden and tend to his flowers and spend time with his canine companion, Lilbit.

George is survived by 4 children, George, Jr. (Deana) Harris of Park City, KS; Christine (Bob) Baker of De Soto, MO; Emily Harris of St. Louis, MO; and Nathanael Harris of De Soto, MO; and their mothers, Ardis Fischer of De Soto and Pam Harris of De Soto; his 6 grandchildren, Tristian Baker, Makenna Baker, Hannah Harris, Dakota Baker, Parker Harris and Macklyn Harris; one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Skaggs; his 10 siblings, Carl (Joyce) Harris of De Soto, Sharon (Stanley) Pinson of Cadet, Nancy Boyer of Gatlinburg, TN, Barbara (David) Adams of Jonesboro, IL, Nellie (Mike) Spangler of Barnhardt, Peter Harris of Cadet, Thomas (Joan) Harris of De Soto, Dorothy (Tommy) Williams of Park Hills, Ike Harris of De Soto and Rosie Harris of Paris, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Violet, Billy, Eddy, Sandra, Sammy, Larry, Tim, Bonnie and Mike Harris.

I have come to the end of my road and the sun has set for me.  I am in no more pain and my soul is free, so please don’t cry for me.
