Gary Douglas Wright, 75, of DeSoto died July 13, 2017, at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton. Mr.
Wright was a member of First Baptist Church DeSoto his entire life. He retired from Union
Pacific Railroad in 2002 after 42 years and was a member of the Brotherhood Railway Carman
of America union. Gary’s passion was taking care of his small farm. He spent all his time taking
care of his animals and garden. As a young man he raced stock cars and was a great
mechanic. Mr. Wright is the oldest son of the late Newell Owen and Beatrice (Hunt) Wright.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 53 years: Ruth Ellen (Reed) Wright; one brother Gordon
and Linda (Elfrank) Wright; two children Paula (Jeffrey) Halbert of DeSoto and Melissa Wright of
Grand Junction, Co.; two granchildren: Ashley (Martin “BJ”) Krewson and Morgan Halbert; four
great grandchildren: Annabelle, Drake, Elaina, and Xya Krewson; and many nieces, nephews,

Boyd St, DeSoto, MO 63020, The Gideon’s or charity of the donor’s choice. Honor Mr. Wright’s
