Frieda Ellen Murphy was born on December 17, 1911 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Frederick and Rosa (nee Matlock) Hardy. She died on September 6, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO at the age of 96 years, 8 months, and 20 days.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Lin) Powell of Imperial, MO; and Ellen (Roger) Culli of Wright City, MO; and one son Mike (Joan) Murphy of Texas; also 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward Lomax Murphy, one son, Edward Murphy, one daughter, Patricia Shanks, one brother, Clifford Hardy, and one sister Ruby Southwick.
