Frederick A. Schlett was born in De Soto on June 25, 1925 a son to Adam and Lillie (nee Cook) Schlett.  He died January 15, 2012 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 86.  He is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Landrum) Schlett; one daughter: Linda (Ray) Noonan, Arnold; one sister: Mary Lou (Norman) Sloan, De Soto; one brother: Andrew “Andy” Schlett, De Soto; and nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Martha Becker, Theresa Webb, and Bertha Boyer; and two brothers: Adam Schlett and Edward Schlett.  He served in the U. S. Army Railroad during and following World War II, retired as a foreman from the Missouri Pacific Railroad and was on Board of Directors of the Families of Calvary Cemetery, Inc.  As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association, 10820 Sunset Office Drive, Suite 220, St. Louis, MO 63127.
