Frank “Max” Winer was born on Aug. 23, 1935 in St. Louis, MO. He died on Mar. 30, 2018 at his home in Festus, MO. His family moved to Southern California in 1938 where he lived until his retirement to Durango, CO in 1998.
Max attended Los Angeles city schools and graduated from University of Southern California School of Business in 1964. While at U.S.C. he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and Trojan Knights. Mr. Winer retired from Leach International Corp. where he helped several sales and marketing management position, the last Director of Worldwide Distribution Sales.
Mr. Winer was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret M. (Hudson) and Raymond Winer. He never married and had no children or siblings. He is survived by his cousins, Lindell (Rose Ann) Cole and family of De Soto, MO and Jerry Counts of Reno, NV; and many dear friends.
He enjoyed backpacking, Bridge, fly fishing, golf and volunteering at the Durango DOW wildlife museum. He stated that his 10 years in Durango were probably the best of his life.
