Emanuel J. Boyer was born in Blackwell on November 20, 1935 a son to John Press and Mary Effie (nee Sansoucie) Boyer. He died on January 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 85. Emanuel married Shirley Butler on January 21, 1956 in Hernando, MS and from this union three children were born: Patty Roth who lives in Valley Park, Terrie (Charlie) Brown, De Soto and Kenneth (Cherlynn) Boyer, De Soto. He is survived by his wife and eight grandchildren: Nathan (Sandy) Harris, Amanda (Alan) Hester, Nicole (Eddie) Walker, Matthew (Christine) Brown, Jerrick Preuss, Joshua (Laura) Preuss, Ashlee (Jesse Francis) Boyer, and Sarah (Cody Stacy) Boyer; and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son in law John Roth; two sisters Cecelia Lewis and Edna Kelly; and one brother Vincent Boyer. Emanuel had retired from the Chrysler Auto Manufacturing Plant in Fenton. He was a member of U.A.W. #136, AmVets Post #48, and the Knights of Columbus.
