Eleanor Ann Brown, the daughter of William August Viehmann and LaVerne (Miller) Viehmann was born on December 5, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. She departed this life on January 11, 2025 at the age of 81 years.
Eleanor was a graduate of Ritenour High School in Overland, MO and the University of Missouri in St. Louis, MO.
Eleanor was united in marriage on December 6, 1980 to Norman Gerald Brown at the Eden Theological Seminary Chapel.
Eleanor was a member of 1st Baptist Church of De Soto, she formerly was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kirk of the Hills, Ladue, MO and Viola Baptist Church of Viola, MO. She loved serving her Lord wherever he placed her.
Eleanor worked for Southern Comfort of St. Louis, Southside Family Practice of St. Louis, Deaconess Hospital of St. Louis, and ended her working career at Covenant Theological Seminary in Ladue, MO where she served as the Financial Aid Director and as the Registrar. Eleanor loved working and serving the student’s the Lord sent her way. She retired and then managed the Paradise Valley Resort in Cassville, MO for two years following normal retirement.
She is survived by her children, John Jepsen, Jr. of De Soto; Janet L. (Robbie) Hahn of Bonne Terre, MO; Melissa A. (Herb) Hahn of De Soto, MO; her grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Wandling, Krystal Basler, Samantha Hahn, Jared (Victoria) Hahn, and Travis (Michala) Hahn; great grandchildren, Eleanor, Loralye, Stella, Parker, Jaxson, Oaklee, Tiffany, Wyatt, and Lylah; sisters, Susan (Lawrence) Clark of Chesterfield, MO; and Wilma (Guy) Lewis of Monett, MO; and brother-in-law, Steve Wise of Monett, MO.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her father and mother, William A. Viehmann and LaVerne M. Veihmann, her husband, Norman G. Brown, a son, Matthew Jepsen and her sister Alice M. Wise.
