Edwin L. “Doc” Queen Sr. was born September 13, 1924 in Caledonia, MO a son to John and Fairy May (nee Hull) Queen. He died January 29, 2013 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruth (nee Scott) Queen; two children: Edwin L. (Martha) Queen Jr., De Soto and Brenda (Mark) Lorenz, West Lafayette, IN; seven grandchildren: Kristi (Jason) Bourisaw, Jennifer (Mike) Golightly, Brad (Lisa) Queen, Chad (Kim) Queen, Matt (Rachel) Queen, Ben Lorenz, and Adam (Eileen) Lorenz; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Gladys Patterson, Agnes Smith, Eunice Porter, Bernice Montgomery, and Helen Diemond; and one brother August Queen. He served in the United States Navy during World War II,was a retired carman for the Union Pacific Railroad, a member of the First Baptist Church-De Soto, and De Soto Lodge #119 A.F. & A. M.
