Can't even say how important she was in my life nor how sad I am that she is no longer physically here. In memory, she is with me every time I go out to take care of the animals or the fence because of things she taught me and baby goats she helped to start nursing when it was too cold.. In my relationships and behaviors, she is with me because of all of God'' Word and love that she passed on to me. She truly lived her faith, when it was difficult, when it would have been easier to turn away. I would be more ggrief-tricked, but who would want to keep her away from Lynn and from health, stamina, and happiness when, from my view, she has so earned it all! I love you so, so much, Dorthy. I will do my best to emulate all of your good qualities and will see you on the other side. Your friend, Lorrie.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. The lost of a loved one grieves the heart and words are never enough to take away the pain. However, our Heavenly Father knows your grief. As a loving and caring Father, He will be there to comfort and sooth your "broken-heart and crushed spirit". ( Psalm 34:18 ). May you find comfort and hope in God's promise of a day when you will reunite with your loved one again. ( Isaiah 26:19 ). My sincere condolences to the family.

When we were in Hillsboro my sister and I met Dorthy about 10 yrs ago when we were doing family research. Called her up and she open her door to us and it has been opened to us ever since. She was very knowledgeable, took us everywhere in DeSoto to enlighten us about our family and Hillsboro. We will greatly miss her and the telephone calls we would have. Your Mother was a very kind and thoughtful person. Sherry and I will miss her greatly. Gayle Rakey

I will always cherish the memories I have of visits to the family farm with Linda back in the late '60s and early '70s when I was in middle school and high school. Dorthy couldn't have been kinder and always made me feel welcome. My sincere condolences goes out to the Wideman family. May Dorthy Rest In Peace.

So many great memories of Dorthy and Lynn. Many hours I spent at their farm learning to sew, and cook as a kid. So many great times swimming in the creek, also. When my mother died 20 years ago, Dorthy made the best hot meal ever and delivered it to my door. Rest in Peace Dorthy.

And I still spell her name wrong... she used to get on me about that all the time. :grinning:

I had the privilege of being Dorothy's Pastor for 8 years. She was a blessing in so many ways... but my favorite memory involving Dorothy has nothing to do with church. I "shot" my first deer on her farm. That is a funny story.
