We had a lot of great times growing up with our cousins and staying at Aunt Dora's house. She could make the best creamy sweet and sour beets there was. You are now in God hands at peace, rest easy and I know my Mom was there to greet you with a carrot cake and a great big hug.

Dora was a wonderful lady who I loved being around. I had not been around her recently but I will never forget her spirit and love she shared with everyone in the neighborhood. I was just one of the kids running the street but she always took the time to make me feel special. I can't ever remember her saying a cross word to all of us who used to play in her yard and in front of their house on our street. She made us all feel wanted and loved. Her whole family were special to us and I'll never forget her kindness and fun loving spirit. We will all miss you Dori.

Dora is my cousin's wife. I've known her as long as I've known my cousin (him being a little older than me). I tend to send long-winded Christmas newsletters to people on my list; certainly not expecting everyone to respond. But one year, AFTER her stroke, she took the painstaking time it must have taken her, to write me a letter telling me how much she appreciated the news I would send. I always cherished that she took the effort to do that.

I literally grew up with this entire family and have lived Dora and Rabbit for many years. They travelled with us many times when we (my family) was on the road singing Gospel music. I'm sure at times they probably got tired of hearing the same ole songs, but if they did we never knew it, cause neither one of them never complained. They were always there through the thick and thin and it really wasn't the same the few times they weren't there. I have always thought of Dora and Rabbit and their entire family as our family. I am so very thankful for all the memories I have and the times well spent together. Love each of you Becky and Larry, Jan and Gary, and Butch and all of your families. My prayers are with the family. But remember as it is said in Psalms 30:5 ....... Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comets in the morning. And how much joy that woman is filled with running all over heaven, sitting at Jesus's feet, and no more pain. Can't imagine it being any better!

Dora was a very sweet and wonderful lady. She always had a smile for you. It's been a long time but, some people you never forget. Heaven is surely rejoicing with this sweet angel in the choir. :blue_heart:

We loved this lady. Such a sincere and loving heart. Lots of tears down here, but none up there. Quite a reunion going on right now.

Miss Dora was one of the sweetest, most kind women I know. She always had a smile on her pretty face and a kind word to share. Praying for those wonderful memories to be everlasting for her loved ones. May God give you peace, love, and hope. Love you ALL.

Dora was a special kind of mother in law and grandmother. I used to give her a hard time (which she gave right back :). I remember once she was scolding Rabbit & Butch about something and the conversation led to her commenting " I do all the cooking, cleaning and bill paying around here !" I couldn't pass up the chance to say " it sounds like you do all the complaining too! " I can still hear her say " Gary, I don't need any help from the peanut gallery !" I'm gonna miss "jabbing" with you Dora. Love you
