Donna Mae Rasmussen was born January 23, 1931 in Whittier, Iowa. She was the daughter of Floyd and Luella (nee Binns) Hampton. She passed on January 24, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Edwardsville, IL at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Robert) Copeland, Plano, TX; Donna Kay (Marsha Poehling) Rasmussen, Edwardsville, IL; and Kathy (Michael) Calcara, Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Andrew (Jacob Westbrook) Copeland; Kate (Brad) Pierce, Heather (Martin) Morgan, Will (Becca) Rasmussen, Alan (Stephanie) Rasmussen, Emily Calcara, and Kat Calcara; one great-grandchild, Nora Mae Pierce; one brother, Jerry Hampton, Cedar Rapids, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John William “Bill” Rasmussen; son; Jon Rasmussen; siblings, Maurine Lassen; Eugene Hampton; and Kay Kinkead. Donna Mae was a graduate of Drury University and obtained her master’s degree in education at Maryville University in St. Louis, MO.  She was a teacher at Hillsboro R-III School District and Herculaneum School District; she was also a member of the Mount Olive United Methodist Church, De Soto, MO. As an expression of sympathy, memorials can be made to the De Soto Lions Club; De Soto Public Library; or Mount Olive Methodist Church, De Soto, MO.
