I too served in the Marines with Dennis and saddened to find this obituary. It turns out that sadly Ron Cudaback has now also died. I remember Dennis as a small town, fun loving, somewhat crazy guy, who was also a hell of a Marine Grunt. We used to always have a laugh reading the Hillsboro paper his folks would send him in the mail. RIP Dennis and Semper Fi

It saddens me deeply to hear this tragic news. I was stationed with Dennis the whole tour in the Corps. We were very close, he showed me pictures of his family (he was proud of all of them) and told me stories of his home back in MO. We kept in touch over the years and I always considered him a very good friend, and a very good Marine. He will be greatly missed by all. Semper Fi. God bless you Dennis. Ron Cudaback

Tom - I am Dennis's sister Lisa. I remember how jealous I was when Dennis got to go over & ride your horses. Your kind words are so appreciated. Dennis was a great brother to us & a wonderful person - thanks for the kind words.

I remember ... listening to the whoosh of car traffic on Highway 21 outside Dennis' bedroom window during sleepovers in grade school .... hearing his laugh, given frequently .... watching this skinny kid (I was the fat one) picked up by his shirt by a nun and shaken, the result of another (and long forgotten) practical joke ... wandering the woods behind the house -- were we pretend hunting? I remember a game of Battleship against Dennis. I remember, above all, the hint of a smile he had constantly. From the picture on this site, he never lost it. I haven't seen Dennis in, what -- 35 years? Yet it seems like yesterday. My sincerest condolences to those who loved him for all those years in between. Tom Warhover Good Shepherd classmate in grades 1-4
