Dennis Wayne Helms, Sr. was born October 22, 1950 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Earl W. “Skeeter” and Margaret Dorothy (nee Ruengert) Helms. He died on March 30, 2016 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 65. He is survived by his wife, Norma (nee Christopher) Helms, Festus, MO; one son, Dennis (Kimberly) Helms, Jr., O’Fallon, MO; one daughter, Amie (David) Clark, O’Fallon, MO; one sister, Pat Jackman, Festus, MO; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Livia. He is preceded in death by his parents. Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Missouri National Guard; he also worked as the evidence technician at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Festus/Crystal City.As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
