Delmar Ray “Duck” Watson, Sr. was born in St. Francois County on January 18, 1937 a son to Martha (nee Strieble) and Walter Watson, Sr. He died at his De Soto home on December 20, 2021 at the age of 84. He is survived by two sons: Delmar Ray (Sandy) Watson, Jr., De Soto and Lee Emery (Deanna) Watson, De Soto; four grandchildren: Lee Emory (Nikki) Watson, Rachel Watson, Ashley Watson, and Cody Watson; four great grandchildren: Zaiden, Bella, Emeri, and Weston; one sister Sharon Maupin, De Soto and one brother John Watson, De Soto. He is preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters: Opal Holmes, Gerri French, Blanche Prichett, Wilma Wilcox, Audrey Rizzuti, Irene Winkler and Madonna Courtaway and six brothers: Glenn Watson, Donald Watson, Walter Watson, Jr. Norman Watson, Jay Dee Watson and Harold Wayne Watson. Duck served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had retired as a laborer for River Cement and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, AFL-CIO.
