I will miss Dean. I do not think I ever saw anything but a smile on his face. He had the personality to make others smile. What a friendly guy! I have to share a fish story. Dean took me fishing at Bismarck Lake. As luck would have it, I caught the only fish and it was a 5 lb. bass. Got home late and I gave it to Dean to eat. A few days later, I open the DeSoto Press to see a photo of Dean holding up the fish , as he had just won the local fishing contest!!! Boy, he never let me forget that. It was an honor to have known Dean. He made DeSoto a better place.

I miss you already. You were loved by so many people, and respected by even more... I will always miss every Sunday as a kid spent with gramma and my parents, listening to your stories, and wondering if you were joking around or serious... I will always miss the encouragement and support you gave in my exciting life endeavors as I got older, and knowing you and gramma were so proud of me.. I will always miss the ‘walkin’ around money’ you would slip me when nobody was looking 🙂 I will always miss visiting with you and giving you haircuts towards the end, no matter how hard it may have been... I’m grateful to have gotten to know such an honorable man in my lifetime, and to have called you my grampa. Rest In Peace, Kerri

I remember the times my grandparents, Nana and Ralph (Becky and Ralph Wills) would bring me over to the McGee's for their card games, and how nice Dean always was to me. Although Mark would be my usual "appointed" host, and Ginger was always around to brighten the visit up (just like her mom, Shirley), going for an evening or afternoon to the McGee's when I was visiting from Flat River was always fun. I'm sorry for the family in their loss. But I can't help but think of the reunion of Dean and Shirley in heaven, and how happy they surely are together. My prayers are with you.

We could write a book about Dean and Dad's jokes, laughs, and just being great friends. Dean left this world just a short 34 years after dad did, same day. While this is difficult for his kids, I am so very sure, he love his Lord and is enjoying a new life in a wonderful way! Ginger, you can hear them, can't you? Arguing about who just caught the biggest fish! Sending you hugs and prayers for getting through this very hard time. Loved Gee!
