David Matthew Campbell, Sr. was born in St. Louis on May 15, 1938 a son to Louie and Eleanor (nee Walker) Campbell. He died at Mercy Hospital-South on September 1, 2019 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Helen (nee McClure) Campbell, De Soto; two daughters: Teresa “Terri” (Ralph “Bucky”) Nunn, Herculaneum and Sharon (James Dale, Sr.) Whittington, Pacific; nine grandchildren: Amy Lynn (Carson) Heady, James Whittington, Jr., Margaret Hibbitts, Katherine (Michael) Kemper, Nicole Campbell, David Matthew Campbell, III, Morgan (Kyle Dennis) Campbell, Gregory Coffey,and Brianna Campbell; and eight great-grandchildren: Madison Heady, Sidonia Heady, Sophia Kemper, Blake Kemper, Scarlett Rose Kemper, Lilly Campbell, Grayson Dennis and Kinsley Dennis. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son David Matthew Campbell, II; and two sisters and their husbands: Dorothy (Raymond, Sr.) Waidmann and Alberta (Donald) Harden. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 Boyd St., De Soto, MO 63020.
