I could not have been blessed with a better father. The values that he had towards his belief in God were amazing. I will miss him greatly, and am sad for my loss, but I have peace knowing he is with God. - I love you dad.

How does one find the words to sum up a person or the life he led? My father was and remains the measuring stick for all that I do. He taught me things, but was open to learning from his children. He was patient and kind. My dad was always devoted to his family and the church, sometimes it was difficult to tell the two apart. My dad was especially devoted to my mother.I can only imagine the void my dad's passing has created for my mom. They were best friends, parents, and guardians of and to each other. I love you dad. I know you know it and I know you loved me. You loved all of your kids and encouraged their individuality. Thank you for the legacy that was your life. Those who knew and loved you will always think of you as a great man. You have finally gone home where your heart longed to take you. Rest peacefully until we meet again. I could never had asked for a better dad. I love you.

Gallant Courteous Considerate Faithful Steadfast My grandfather was a railroad man, an artist, and a man of strong faith, but the thing that I will remember most is how much of a gentleman he was. He always held the door for my grandma, walked with her hand in hand, carried her purse, spoke to her with respect, and always loved her with the most selfless love in the world. He also had a great head of wavy silver hair that could make anyone jealous!!! My mother was his oldest daughter Dava Lee. She passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2008. I know he instilled his loving spirit in her, and she passed it along to me. I saw my grandpa just two weeks before his passing, and he still made silly jokes, but he made a point to mention how much grandma does for him and how grateful he was to have her in his life. A true gentleman! My grandpa is now reunited with my mom in heaven. I am sure she was waiting for him with arms wide open. I will miss my grandpa terribly.

Grandpa, I wish I would have come around more often. You were right when you said, we are our own worse enemy. I will always have memories of good times we shared as I was growing up. The bench that you made me decorates my living room still. I remember listening to you play the piano and wishing I had your talent for music. You were probably one of the best piano players I ever have known. I have many trinkets and wood burnings that you made me when I was a child. These items will always be special to me and remind me of you. Before you passed away, you said you heard angels singing and you talked to Dava. I hope you are at peace and your pain is gone. I love you, Pinky

I HAVE KNOWN BARRY SINCE HE WAS A LITTLE BOY. I WAS PASTOR OF WOODLAWN BAPTIST CHURCH IN BATON ROUGE, LA FOR 9 YEARS. MET HIS WIFE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. SORRY TO HEAR OF THE DEATH, BUT IT COMES TO ALL OF US. MAY GODS RICHEST BLESSING BE UPON YOU IN YOUR TIME OF GRIEF AND MOURNING.
