Clifford Hill Cordia was born in Richwoods on June 24, 1928 a son to Julia (nee DeClue) and Arthur Cordia, Sr. He died on September 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 87. Clifford served in the United States Army for 20 years and it was during this time that he met his wife Renate, the two were married in Heidelberg, Germany on June 7, 1955. Mrs. Cordia survives and lives at Valle Lake. Clifford and Renate have one daughter, Karin (Mrs. Sid) Young, De Soto: four grandchildren: Eric (Jen Holeman) Young, Dawne Young, April Labruyere, and Julie (Christopher) Senter; and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Cordia is also survived by two sisters: Mildred Barnes, St. Clair and Norma Jean Bliss, St. Clair; one brother Arthur “Buddy” (Ruth Ann) Cordia, Jr., Lonedell, and a sister in law: Lois Cordia Pannebecker, De Soto. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Paul Cordia, Sr. and two brothers in law: Raymond Barnes and Tosca Bliss. After his retirement from the Army Mr. Cordia worked in the maitenance department at the Jefferson County Courthouse. He also worked in many capacities at Valle Lake including with their sewer department. Rev. Bruce Valle will officiate the funeral service.
