Betty Marler-Schmitt was born October 23, 1937 in Rogersville, AL. She was the daughter of Clayton Charlie Bates and Effie Gertrude (nee Lovell) Dismukes. She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Tom) Alexander, Festus, MO; Roger Marler, Bonne Terre, MO, Patricia Beaman, Festus, MO and Denise McMullin, Festus, MO; one sister, Gail (Mike) Guilfoyle, Low Point, Il; ten grandchildren, Keith, David, Brian, Kirstie, Sharon, Carolyn, Michelle, Melissa, Angela, and Christina; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; husband Fred Schmitt, Festus, MO and his family, Gene (Nancy) Schmitt, Festus, MO; Freddie (Karen) Schmitt, Bonne Terre, MO; Chris (Pam) Schmitt, Hillsboro, MO; and Samantha Schmitt, Festus, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Radie L. Marler; son-in-law, Mike Beaman; brother, Deral Bates; grandson, Roger; and step-father, J.D. Dismukes.
