Annabel Rousan (nee Lee) age 95 of Eureka, MO passed away on May 19, 2019.  She was born September 15, 1923 in Grubville, MO a daughter of Charles Oliver and Mary Eliza (nee Johns) Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar J. Rousan, her parents, her four sisters, Gladys Lee Castleberry, Ada Lee Henry, Flae Lee Johnson and Vernon Henderson and her four brothers Coen O. Lee, Robert E. Lee, Charles Lloyd Lee and John W. Lee, one nephew, Wallie Hart and one niece, Jo Ann Johnson Perkins.  She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Lee Henderson, Kirkwood, MO, one step-son, Bruce Rousan, Dittmer, MO, seven grandchildren, Megan, Jeremy, and Adam Glover, Joshua, Sarie, Slade Rousan, and Brandy Zoff, six nieces and one nephew, and many other relatives and friends.  She graduated from Hillsboro High School as Valedictorian of her class and received a scholarship to Southeast Missouri State Teacher’s College where she attended the school term 1942-1943. In June of 1943 she received an appointment with the Federal Government and retired January 3, 1984 from U.S. Army Troop Support and Aviation Material Command as a Management Specialist after 25 years of service. Ann was married to Sharon’s father Alvin E. Henderson of Pacific, MO September 14, 1947. During her years in Pacific she was a member of the Pacific Baptist Church, was assistant pianist, taught Sunday school and worked in Bible School.  She was active in the 1960’s in school activities being President of the PTA for two years and troupe organizer for the Girl Scout organization for several years. In later years she helped organize an Alumni Association for Hillsboro High School and was Chairperson for two Hillsboro High School Reunions. She was married to Delmar Rousan, September 15, 1979 and returned to live in the community where she was born and raised.  She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church where she had accepted Christ as her Savior in 1937. She had come full circle-she was back home where she renewed old acquaintances and made many new friends.  In April 2013 she completed her book she had been working on for many years, entitled”MEMOIRS: NINE LIVES”.  In it she recorded the history of her mother and father rearing their nine children and the wonderful  relationship they had.
